My name is Linda M. Parker, I have worked in the industry since 1987, being a salon owner since 1991. I am an advanced stylist, specializing in crisp precision cuts, curly hair, short feminine cuts, razor cutting and dimensional color/ foiling. I retexture the hair with techniques which include perming and relaxing as well as keratin therapy. I love to do creative bridal styles and up do's.
I am extremely passionate about my job, and truly enjoy bringing a fresh creative spark to the table. I perfect my cuts after styling, and use my tools to eliminate bulk, add texture and detail.

I love this salon! coming from a family of stylists, I had never tried any others.until A Cut Above. I will never go anywhere else! My hair isn't the easiest but Melissa, effortlessly, makes me look fantastic every time. I never have to wait, they are always on time and through this pandemic they have followed every extensive guideline that our Gov has put forth.
I feel totally safe going there. I have recommended a few people to this salon and I get a thank you text every single time they have an appt bc they are so pleased with the finished product. Keep up the great work everyone and THANK YOU for all you do.

I have been seeing Melissa Rose for nearly 15 years. I used to travel to NYC and Short Hills to follow a very high end stylist for over 20 years. Unfortunately I was unable to continue a 2 hour commute and someone recommended A Cut Above in Lawrenceville. have never regretted this decision. I only travel 20 minutes, I pay a lot less for a very professional cut and Melissa is a genius when it comes to color! I would not go anywhere else.

I went to Linda for highlights last week after a friend recommended her. Since moving from NYC many years ago, I have really never been happy with my highlights. I've gone to so many different salons in the area and really been unhappy with my highlights. Linda took the time to really listen to what I wanted, she looked at pictures I brought and she really cared that I was happy.
She was also very honest and upfront that the color I was going for would take a couple other sessions, and I appreciated the honesty and the game plan. Will definitely be back and hopeful that she will be the first person I've seen in years that can make me excited to get highlights. Thank you, Linda!

Positive: Cleanliness, Quality, Value I originally went to this salon by accident and quickly became a loyal customer and have been for over twenty years! I have curly hair that is difficult to cut. Once I sit in the chair it is all about me and my hair. Not only is my hair easy to manage, I also get compliments! I can't imagine going to anyone else. Services: Hair coloring, Hairstyling

I have been going to 'A Cut Above' for years (since the mid '90s). The people there are wonderful hairdressers and good people. They give their best to their clients and want them to have a pleasant experience. The salon is clean and welcoming. They have people who specialize in different skills but you always get great service. This has been a tough year for all of us with COVID19. This is one place I feel safe and joyful to go to.

I have been going to Linda for years. I really enjoy her and the staff at the salon. Linda is an expert at short trendy cuts and is able to adapt them to your individual facial features, so you always look great. The cuts are also easy to style at home. I frequently get compliments on my cuts and color. I am so happy I found Linda all those years ago.

If you have any questions about the service here, read the "about us" on their website. Every single thing Linda says there is absolutely true. I have been bouncing from salon to salon for years and found this one near my work and thought I'd try it out. I was nervous because I wanted to try something new with my hair, but was a little unsure of what I wanted. Linda (the owner) not only responded to my email personally and right away, but she got me in quickly, and she and her assistant Keara both stayed with me past closing and never once made me feel rushed.
She sat with me for a good 20 minutes before starting anything and talked to me, looked through pictures, and showed me swatches. She is so knowledgeable and taught me things about hair that no stylist has shared with me in all these years. She is very passionate, patient, and super talented. As for my hair, she somehow took a mix of colors to create a really nice blend, so that now it's almost like my hair changes depending on what light I'm in, how it's falling, etc., and I just love it. Linda is also very sweet, doesn't try to up-sell, and in fact makes sure to work within your budget to get the results you want for a price you can handle. I'm excited to go back to see what she does next time :)
