Had hair and makeup done for a wedding. Did everything turn out great? Yes. What's not ok is up charging for things without informing a client. Was asked if I like eyelashes with the makeup. Was not told they would be 25 DOLLARS. Eyelashes I could have bought at the drug store. All I had done was a wash and curl. I put my hair in a pony tail and the stylist gave me bobby pins for later. 35 DOLLARS for "additional styling". This was already a splurge for me to do so spending an extra $50 on things I was not told would cost more doesn't sit well.

This was my first time in this salon and Karla was just AMAZING! I have thick South Asian wavy hair and Karla understood them. She gave me an awesome haircut and shared tips on how to keep them looking great. Highly recommend Karla for all your hair needs.

Amazing salon. Staff are friendly, I had a great experience. It's always nerve-racking finding a new stylist. The salon itself is beautiful and in a great area. Eric is great, this is one of the best cuts I've ever gotten. I have a lot of very straight hair and wear it in a chin-length bob so when its not perfect its so easy to spot mistakes and cuts don't always wear well out of the salon. We talked about it and he texturized the bottom of my hair so its very easy to re-style and dries great.

If you are in need of a good men's hair cut I can not recommend Eric enough, he does such a great job with my hair I've been going to him since 2008 and followed him to 3 different salons as he's moved around. I move out of Philadelphia and anytime i visit i always book a haircut with Eric. No one else comes close. He does such a great job my mother even started going to him so he's great at men's and women's hair.

This is my favorite hair salon I have ever been to. Karla has cut and colored my hair multiple times and she is absolutely incredible. She does an amazing job every time and I leave the salon feeling like a new person. She is truly so talented, friendly, and listens to what you ask for. I live in Colorado now and whenever I come home to Philly I make sure I'll be able to have my hair done by Karla. 5/5 stars hands down!

Awesome experience at this salon for a long haircut and treatment with Karla. She is the best! Helped me understand how to get the best out my hair, provided a tonne of tailored haircare tips, gave me a fantastic cut and treatment. Karla was meticulous! I've been coming to Andre Richard Salon for the past six years. Everyone is super professional and welcoming. Karla did my balayage a few years ago and a touch up recently and I'm still loving it! She always gives me the best hair care tips and is a delight to be around. I trust her 100% with my hair, I always feel 10x better after my appointments.

As the 100th Anniversary Miss Philadelphia, myself and former Miss Philadelphias are proud to have partnered with Andre Richard Salon to style our hair for various events. I recently got my hair trimmed and blown out by Karla at Andre Richard Salon, so my hair would be nice when I emcee the Mummers Fancy Brigade Show on New Years Day. My new haircut looks so fresh, perfect for the New Year! Karla never fails in making my hair look fabulous. I always feel so good and pretty when leaving Andre Richard Salon! :

I have never been so disappointed with the outcome of my hair as I was when I left there. I wanted to go from dark brown to blonde, which I am usually always blonde, until a year ago. Decided to give my hair a break. I told Karla that my grays had to be covered and I didn't want any bassiness in my hair. I was assured it would be done. 4 hours later and 395.00, my hair was still full of grey.

My grey was at the crown of my head and all the highlights started approx 2-3 inches from my scalp. There was brassiness in it. My hair looked red, not blonde. When I asked why did I still have so much gray, she stated that she tried to blend it in. I left because I had to be in NY for an engagement. I thought maybe give it time and it would grow on me.

The next morning I was even more upset just looking at it. I just feel that paying that much, I should have got what I asked for, not what the stylist wanted. We had a consultation prior and even talked the day of the appointment and I was assured what I requested could be done. I spoke with the owner and I was given the option to come in to have it corrected, but unfortunately I was flying back home and my only day off was on a Tuesday, the day salon is closed.

I was told I could do it when I returned, but I explained that I wanted my hair done for the holidays. I found someone in Tampa to do my hair and when she looked at my hair she was in shock. The back of my hair even had shades of purple, according to the stylist who corrected my hair. It did come out beautiful, but I paid another 250.00, but that money spent was well worth it. I just want to say the stylist and owner were extremely nice and tried to accommodate me after, I cant in good conscience recommend this salon.

Ava did a silk press on my 4C hair and it was transformative. She is very gentle, professional and did an amazing job. Love my hair!

Karla and Andre Richard Salon saved my hair. I have extreme damage from Japanese straightening performed 3 months ago (at a supposedly reputable salon!). Desperate for help, I made an appointment for a keratin treatment at Andre Richard Salon to try to revive my hair. My stylist, Karla, honestly and wisely advised against a keratin treatment because my hair was so damaged. Instead, she gave my hair a trim to clean up some of the worst parts and did a glaze and Olaplex no. 1 treatment.

She also recommended the entire Olaplex product line, which I gladly purchased. My hair feels like real hair again! It's soft, shiny, and far smoother. Karla has a client for life now.

Ryan is amazing! He spends hours on my hair to get it exactly how I want. And there won't be any surprises, he always gives my hair the same color - other salons were not as consistent. Highlights, cut and blow dry, Ryan does a great job in all.

The shop is bright and clean and Drea is welcoming and a dear. She always makes sure I am comfortable. Ava is undoubtedly the best stylist on the planet and I would follow her to the ends of the earth.

I got a devacut from the amazing Ava Darling! She is so talented and knowledgeable about curly hair in ALL textures. I have 3c/4a curls and Ava was the first stylist that was SPOT ON with what I wanted. She has magic fingers! Thank you Ava Darling book with her! You WILL NOT regret it

DRA'E was warm and Welcoming upon arrival. Temp check and Sanitizer was administered. My stylist was Ava. She transition my hair from the reddish color to what my natural. Fantastic, informative and professional. Shop was bright and each station was cleaned after every person.

I love Eric. He is such a fabulous master stylist. He has such great skill. and is such a decent, nice guy. Also I love the salon. very hip and relaxing.

First time trying but I was very pleased. Stylist Ava was kind and knowledgeable of hair and I appreciated her advice. Have already booked my next appointment!

I am new to the area and was desperate for a retouch. Easy online booking, I requested any available stylist and was lucky to get Karla. She is talented, took her time and was attentive to details. Blow out was great and I felt like a $1M bucks when I left! Will be back.

The experiences I've had at this salon have been wonderful, all around. Ava's ability to create a look for me that's better than I ever could have asked for or imagined had me walking from the salon with a little more pep in my step. The diverse staff helps make sure there will be someone there who "gets you", and in my experience that's been as important as the actual skills (and their staff has mad skills, too). I've been to many stylists who have given me great haircuts, but Ava gave me a haircut that's great for ME, and that makes all the difference!

Love, love, love this salon - Lana runs the salon with such professionalism. She is so friendly, and goes above & beyond every time. Lana is the best! As for expert styling, hair extensions, hair color and cutting I have never had a better stylist than Ava - she is amazing! My hair has never looked better! I can't rate Ava higher. Thank you Lana & Ava for always making my experience so awesome!

This place was amazing. I went for a scalp treatment + conditioning + haircut. Ryan listened to my needs and was so amazing. My scalp feels good and not flaky anymore. AND, I loved my haircut. It is exactly what I wanted. Definitely going back!

I highly recommend my go to stylist Ava. She is experienced with a variety of hair types, especially textured hair. I have type 3c hair. Ava keeps my hair healthy. I trust her advice and experience tremendously. The salon has made great changes to keep clients and staff safe due to COVID-19 and I will definitely be back.

This was my first appointment with Stephen, and I wanted a feminine pixie cut on my very thick, wavy hair. I've had every bad pixie cut in the book, but Stephen knew exactly how to handle it - even instructing a younger stylist as he worked. It was very technical, and Stephen nailed it! I look sooo cute, no matter what direction the waves in my hair decide to go! A million thanks, to everyone at the salon, I had a 5 star experience from start to finish.

Eric is so good at capturing what I want, but also being honest about what will and won't work on my curly hair. Also, as a woman of colour, I appreciate seeing other people of color in the salon, both working and as customers.

I've gotten two COVID-19 haircuts here since they opened back up last month, and the service was excellent! Be sure to get your haircut with Karla, she's the best!

Second time getting my hair coiffed at the new Andre Richard Salon space. It's gorgeous in there -- light-filled and comfortable space with good tunes and strong coffee to keep you buzzing through. Before we did anything, Drea checked my scalp with her calliascope which showed some product buildup but overall, she said it looked good. Drea helped me take my color up a couple of notches with some fresh caramel highlights to amplify my natural hue.

Hair magic happens here and they never disappoint. My hair was "done" for days following my appointment. I did not want to wash it. I will come back for a scalp treatment soon. I love Phyto that she uses all of her products are top of the line. Best of all were the compliments I received afterward!

I am so, so happy to have finally found my hair home! I have hunted around the city for some time, and through other reviews popped in here. I've been seeing Karla for about a year now - she is amazing. She understands what I'm asking for and always elevates it to a whole other level. I feel so lucky to have found her and the salon. Today I had my first appointment at their new location in old city -- wow, truly such a change. There really is nothing that needs improvement now - they have it all. Karla you're a queen! Such an amazing experience with Joseph! He transformed my dark and uneven box dye hair to a masterpiece! My hair still feels healthy with a beautiful shine. I came in yesterday to get a haircut with one of the senior stylists and had an overall great experience service-wise. From the shampooing to the cut to the blow drying, I felt like my stylist moved swiftly and expertly. However, I was a bit disappointed this morning. Even though my hair had looked fine yesterday after styling, today it looked chunky and uneven.

Perhaps my stylist may not have been very experienced with Asian hair (she seemed very experienced from the bio posted on the ARS website). I will have to go get that fixed because I have a dressy occasion to go to later this week. A bit painful to have to shell out another $50+ to correct this, but good thing I got this haircut earlier in the week!
