Barbara Strubell
owner

Born and educated in Connecticut, Barbara has worked as a hair stylist since 1972. She chose the independence of working instead of art school, which her teachers and parents suggested. She lived and worked in Maine for several years before opening Artful Designs Hair Care in 1984. The original plan was a hair salon and art gallery. That was before she found out she was going to be a mother.

After 25 years, she is thrilled now to be painting one day a week and hanging her work in her salon. Oil painting is her preferred medium for representational art. She is currently studying on her own and is excited to see how her skills develop over time.
