This used to be excellent. It's become below average in terms of the quality of work they do now. For the last couple of times ( I am a regular ) they have been doing a below average job on hair color, novice hair stylists it seems. Service: Hairstyling

Very bad service and the system they use for booking appointment. 1. I booked for 11:20 AM, got a message for 11:20 AM. but the stylish says her system says 11:15 AM and I am late as per the system and can't do the haircut as the system will not allow that. I haven't seen a horrible system like this. 2. the stylish was vey average and was not looking experienced to handle a 2 year old, are we not paying premium at this place because we expect the stylish to be experienced in handling toddlers. 3. service includes shampoo, blow dry which a 2 year old will not take still you have to pay full price. why they can't have a service more suitable for the age groups.4. Balloon they gave was so dirty and full of hairs. Will never go back or recommend anyone

First time visiting the salon. I was a former Twisted Scissors client for many years. My stylist was Rebecca and she greeted me with a big welcoming smile. She took her time and asked me questions about my hair and how I wanted it styled. The salon was very clean and the interior design was very modern. My hair came out the best haircut and style I have had in years. I will definitely be back and have already booked my next appointment with Rebecca.

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the other posters here giving 5-star reviews. I was new to the salon and so was paired with a stylist. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps she's just starting out and learning, but my haircut was a choppy mess and the highlights were barely noticeable. The search for a good stylist continues.

I've been seeing Jenna S. for more than a year since I moved to this area. She is a consummate professional and truly listens to your needs. She colors my hair on a regular basis and gives a great cut too. Don't be swayed by her youthful appearance; Jenna knows what she's doing! Jeff, the owner, is fabulous too. When the salons were closed due to the pandemic, he still took care of his color customers safely by giving us at-home color kits. Ambiance is great; prices are competitive. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Amanda was absolutely AMAZING! I have naturally curly textured hair and she knew exactly how to work with it and what to do. Her vivid color is phenomenal! I've definitely found my new stylist! Everyone there was so sweet and fun! Great overall experience. Service: Hairstyling

Larisa gave me the most incredible Bob hair cut and I'm obsessed with my look! I have curly hair and usually wouldn't have my dream haircut but finally I found Larisa! I love how she pays attention to the details and does a great job. She is extremely professional and her level of experience is worth every penny of the cost also she has an awesome personality. Larisa's assistant also helps by washing my hair and the quality of her hair washing is superlative and relaxing makes me feel the highest level of confidence and excitement! I can't say enough good things about Larisa, her assistant and the welcoming front staff!

Just moved here from Chicago and was looking for a curly hair cut for my super long thick curly hair. I saw Jenna and she was amazing! Love my hair cut and since I'm new to the area, she gave me so many amazing restaurants and places to go to and wrote them down for me! So sweet. I also came back and got my hair dyed by Danielle and she did it perfectly. Really impressed by them both and glad to find my new salon.

I'm a first time client and was paired up with Melissa. She did a GREAT job on my root touch up (matched the color perfectly) and my trim haircut. I will definitely start going to her now that I've moved to the area and will be staying for a while. She was GREAT and my hair looks awesome!

Absolutely amazing, I went in to do a body wave but left with healthier and prettier hair all thanks to Amanda! She was terrific, she had my best interests at heart, was genuinely concerned and put in extra treatments to restore my damaged ends. She even showed me all the products i was looking for and demonstrated them on me so i would know how to use them! I would highly recommend going just to have Amanda do your hair.

I was going to another salon and didn't realize they had made a mess of my hair. Brook fixed the color the cut and it looks fantastic. She is an professional stylist and colorist who makes you feel like a million dollars every time you leave. The prices are fantastic and everyone in this salon is kind, professional and knows how to treat their customers. I highly recommend going to this salon to everyone

I have had an excellent experience here and have loved every cut. Nice clean shop and always a friendly visit. The owners are awesome and put their hearts into their work. Highly recommend for men, women, and kids too.

Amanda Majeska is such a fantastic hair artist! I have been seeing her for quite some time and she has always shown just how talented she is each and every time she lays hands on my hair! From fashion color to beautiful cuts she is the person you want to see. She makes sure that everything is perfect from start to finish. If you have the pleasure of sitting in her chair, she will be sure that you leave happy and much better looking than when you walked in.

Color salon and spa has such a wonderful atmosphere and is very comfortable. The decor is phenomenal and the receptionist is extremely helpful. If you are looking for a treat, book with Amanda at color salon!

I am always thrilled to go to Color Salon and Spa to get my hair done by Autumn! Autumn listens to me to hear exactly what I am going for when it comes to cut and color. I never ever feel rushed with her and she takes time to explain what she is going to do. Color Salon and Spa and Autumn rock!

When I moved to Raleigh in 2012, I found a salon that I liked, and a stylist that I actually followed to a different salon and eventually to her house, for quite a few years. Then a REALLY bad dye job happened, and she wouldn't return my calls to do something to fix my hair. So, I lost trust and had a hard time, like, 3 years, finding a stylist that I clicked with.

I FINALLY have found a new, permanent, stylist! Brehyan @ Color has been amazing in transforming my hair. After that previously mentioned dye job, my hair was breaking, falling out from postpartum, Hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's.just a perfect storm of bad hair. I couldn't tame the frizz. Through strategic cuts, expertly recommended treatments, and a reminder to be patient, my hair is coming back!

I can't express how incredibly hard it was for me to watch my hair go from long and thick and shiny and smooth, to frizzy and broken and even patchy. There is not enough praise to give to Brehyan for how she has helped me bring my hair back to life. And my latest cut (with a little summer color and an Olaplex treatment) has gotten me SOOOO many compliments! I'm a client for life!

Brehyan is amazing! It's rare that I go into the salon knowing exactly what I want and she always has great suggestions on how we can achieve the look I'm going for without compromising the health of my hair - and I always leave with my hair looking perfect. She explains the products she uses, takes time to make sure my service is relaxing, and makes me feel important as a client. I'm always looking forward to my next appointment with her!

The task of finding the perfect hair salon can take forever, and not to mention be kind of risk taking. but after almost 4 years living in the Triangle area and visiting a handful of salons and stylists, I have finally found the stylist AND salon I've been looking for! I've been coming to see Amanda Majeska since October of 2018, and she has never let me down.

She has that artistic eye especially when it comes to COLOR! and she makes sure that everything is perfect before I walk out the door. I recently had an emergency hair situation come up - where I needed my roots touched up and my color refreshed as I was about to be in front of a camera in the next 24-48 hours. Amanda was incredibly accommodating as she was able to fit me in at the VERY end of the day. MY HERO!

The salon as a whole is very charming, modern, and clean. The deco is SO cute! I feel welcome every time I come, it feels like being around a big family. I also like the hair products they carry. Amanda and the staff really take the time to understand the needs of their clients'.

I cannot say enough about this salon. Valerie is the best. Every time I leave I feel better about myself! She gets my color exactly like I want it every single time. Everyone in there is so friendly! Won't go anywhere else!

Had a seriously bad experience and will never go back. I am new to the area and trying to find my key places for hair, nails ect. I tried this salon and only wanted some blonde highlights to my mousy brown hair with some low lights. I asked for hair color that looked natural. I got reddish orangish hair that Alyssa had to immediately redo before I even saw it. 61/2 hours later I left devastated and told I could come back the next day to fix it for free. The color is horrible and I was too afraid to even return to "fix" it. Never again.

They completely messed up my hair. This was in June - I've been dealing with the consequences ever since. I asked for my hair to go closer to my normal hair color and showed four or five photos. I described my hair as light brown/strawberry blonde. Later, other stylists explained that at the consultation, she should have simply suggested adding lowlights.

This is the sort of expertise and consultation that was missing. She rushed and was rude. My hair came out way too dark and blotchy due to uneven corrective die application - to cover up a horribly red undertone. My husband was shocked at how horrible a job they did. I went someplace else to have it corrected - it was hundreds of dollars to get it to a semi-reasonable state and it's still not completely grown out. The owner, instead of apologizing for the error, he said it looked nice and that they did a good job.

I love love love this salon! Alyssa does a great cut for my thick head of hair. She takes her time and does it just right. Jess has done my highlites and does exceptional work quickly for a full head of blonde foil highlites on long dark hair. I needed very little toner and it came out awesome! It's the first time in 10 years of leaving NY that I found a salon I want to go to who actually can cut my hair. I'm over the moon happy!

I visited Color salon and hair spa once in early 2016. Service was ok (the stylist was kind of aloof, not friendly) and price seemed high. The outcome of my appointment was ok.my hair looked decent after getting highlights. However, my hair had changed to an orange straw like texture after a few months. I have since changed salons and have never had this outcome with the other place.this is after not making changes to hair products I use; so I can confirm that the texture and color were not a result of my hair products. I would not go back here- the service, the price, and the work does not please me.

I love this salon! I've been coming to Color for quite some time now and have never had anything short of an awesome experience. Jeff cuts and colors my hair and he is amazing. He listens to what direction I want to go in and always offers suggestions. I basically let him do what he wants (that's trust!) and he always knocks it out the park!

I get stopped constantly by people complimenting my hair and wanting to know where I go. Everyone at the salon is so nice and fun. It really is like a mini-family in there. I will never go anywhere else!

I just moved here from Asheville (by way of California) and took a chance on this salon based on a Facebook mom's recommendation. I called and the receptionist was very professional and friendly and offered an appointment with Alyssa, who she said was "awesome." - Clean salon - check - Hip yet relaxing - check - Nice stylist - check - Good cut - check - Hair ready for anything check Alyssa was friendly yet professional.

She chatted enough, but not too much. She took time cutting my hair, asked me a few questions, offered her advice. Never tried to upsell me on anything. After she dried my hair (which she is great at), she shaped it and finished it to be the perfect "casual chic" look I was going for. My hair had movement, but also definition. She gave me a first time client discount too! Super sweet! I think the regular price for my cut was $40, which is well-worth it. I will definitely be back.

Edit- changing my review to 3 stars due to a bad color experience after the first one was great. Here's the thing ladies, if you are a Redkin color girl, do not except any substitutes (Aveda, Wella, Paul Mitchell, etc.) go to BLO salon in Brier Creek. Don't believe other salons when they say they can match Redkin and don't buy the "if you want all over color, you have to do highlights".

You don't! You can get beautiful color if the stylist knows what they are doing, ask questions! Original Review: Great salon! After relocating to NC 4 mo ago and 1 really BAD experience at Lux Salon, I thought I would try Color Salon after looking at the Yelp reviews and I am so glad I did! Larisa was amazing and did a great job on my hair. I am incredibly thankful to her for making my blonde hair beautiful again and being so sweet
