The reason for this score is due to the unprofessionalism of their employee Jessica S. She was suppose to be doing my hair and makeup for my wedding that is less then a month away. For your wedding day you are suppose to look and feel your best. Unfortunately, after my first trial I was not feeling my makeup so I told her ( like she said I should).

I asked to do another trial, which I was going to pay for and she agreed. The day of the trial I received a text that she was no longer going to do my wedding since I asked her for a second trial. The point of trials is to make sure the day of your getting what you want! Absolutely unbelievable! I will be telling everyone and anyone about this situation.

Daylin is great. She listens to what I'd like and does an expert job of making it happen! The environment is peaceful, my color cut and style are just right, and the prices are competitive. The salon also often has specials on hair products.

Great salon and spa. I have been going here for years for all my hair needs. Lauren is fantastic and has always made my vision a reality. I trust her judgement and suggestions when it comes to my hair. Very fair pricing as well.

I have been going to Dede for close to 6 years and she has always been wonderful. For edgy cuts and wild fashion colors, go to her. For a more conservative cut and highlights or a balayage, go to her. We have covered all ends of the spectrum (purple, magenta, rose gold, light brown, chocolate brown, red, highlights, blonde, super short fashion cuts, long shoulder length hair with balayage) and it has always been beautiful.

If you're looking for something out of the box, come in with a general idea of what you're looking for, and consult with her. She has more than enough experience under her belt to steer you in the right direction and give you honest advice that will keep your hair healthy. Understand that high maintenance hair color will be pricier and will take more time in the chair.

And if you are the type to grant creative freedom to a stylist, Dede will not let you down. I have often left the salon with a completely different style/color than what I had in mind going in but have loved it every time. The biggest mistake I think a person can make is to have a very rigid plan going into the salon with no wiggle room for the stylist to chime in.

Usually this can cause more damage than good (like if someone with very brittle hair wants to go platinum blonde in one go). Sometimes, taking some time to listen to the professional can result in the perfect cut/color that compliments YOUR best features. In my opinion, that what Dede excels in. Besides being a brilliant stylist and colorist, Dede will welcome you warmly, bring you coffee or water, tell amazing stories and make you laugh hard. She is just a joy and I highly recommend her to anyone.

Horrific I went here for a color and a cut. I was here from 9:30 am and never got out until 3 pm. I kept hearing how wonderful Alexander was going to make me look. Starting with a 70$ consult fee at the end that no one told me about. ( what stylist doesn't sit with you a Minute and ask what you want? Well Alexander charges for that, 70$ to be exact.

Upon complaint it was reversed) by the time the owner added all his pricing for how wonderful I was going to look, from a shampoo treatment $$$ to coloring the bill ended up being 570$ when I was told 235$ over the phone ( or something very close to that price I can't remember now) My hair looked good, but his trickery in adding to the bill for just a wash color and cut was very deceiving.

I got a massage here once, and the experience was great. No complaints at all on that aspect; however, I've gotten multiple text messages confirming additional appointments that I never made. I called multiple times to find out why my number is being used and to make sure I don't have appointments scheduled. I finally called and asked to have my number completely removed from their system.

The lady very briefly said "ok, sorry about that" and hung up on me. Could not believe the absolutely awful service I received. This is a request that businesses are required to comply with and outrageous that it was handled in that manner.

I was charged $240 for a haircut and color. This was my second visit to the salon with Courtney. I never expected to pay this much. I had no idea that I would be charged this much. My hair is to my shoulders and not very thick. The style and color I received were quite average. In the past I have been to many high-end salons but the prices here are outrageous.

I later called to express my dismay over the lack of communication with pricing and the salon owners did not return my call. They do not advertise correct pricing on their website and pretty much seem to charge whatever they like.

I can't even review the services because I never actually GOT any services. I called to make an appointment, and received the automated answering service with a "press 1" to schedule an appointment. So I pressed 1. I was then put into a mailbox to leave a message. Not a good first impression for a potential new client -- as a new client, I like to speak to a human who is going to be doing body work on me. So, I waited about 20 minutes and called back. Again, automated answer.

I should have known then. But I gave it one more try, third time was the charm and I scheduled a brow wax for 2 pm. I arrived and had to drive around to even find parking, forget about any close parking. So I walked through the snow and slush. I was about 5-10 minutes early, intentionally, in case I had to fill out some paperwork as a new client. No paperwork and I was taken back to the spa area.

That was the last time I saw anybody -- except for the pedicurist who opened her door into the reception area so I could hear her entire conversation and watch someone's toes be worked on. Fifteen minutes past my appointment time with no acknowledgment that I was even there, let alone that my aesthetician was running late, I walked out. To the front desk, where I foolishly stopped to try to give them one last chance.

The woman working the desk had picked up the phone but not dialed yet and said to me very snidely, "I'll be right with you." I told her not to bother as no one else felt they needed to help me and I walked out. No one tried to stop me and I received no phone call. Again, foolish me, I actually thought they might reach out to me. Not so much. So, I called to speak with the client relations manager, who funny enough, was "just getting ready to call me" -- sure, I believe that.

She told me "this is not how we run our business and we'd like to make it right." I chose NOT to take her up on her offer. Given my negative impression from even before I walked through their doors, let alone once I was in their spa, their idea of what is "right" is a bit unnerving. So, if you are lucky enough to get through on the phone and speak to a human, and find parking, and actually have your service provider honor your appointment, then good luck -- I hope whatever you have done works for you. As for me, I'll find a salon that actually wants new business.

I had a massage this past week and it was a good massage but the lady talked to me the whole time so I found it a bit difficult to really relax. I could see if I was getting my hair done but, when your paying 100 and something dollars I feel like you should really get your money's worth. I still left a great tip because the lady was very nice i just wish I would have gotten more of a massage then a lecture.

Another thing that turned me off the receptionists were all young and somewhat rude. I tried to make friendly conversation and just received blank stares in return. overall i'd say it's not worth the expense.

Love love love this place! The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful, and I am so happy to have found Jennifer Woods. I moved to Florida 2 years ago, and I still go back to David Alexander to get my hair cut by Jennifer whenever I go back home to MD. She listens and does exactly what I want and it is always an enjoyable experience! As for the person who complained about the cash tipping policy, the reason is probably because businesses get charged about 3% for every credit card transaction from their merchant companies.

When everyone tips on a credit card, and the tip goes directly to the service provider, the business eats the 3% on the amount of the tip. That can really add up. Ever notice how some gas stations charge less per gallon when you pay cash? Same concept. Definitely not a good reason to give the salon a bad review!
