Walked in was not greeted and just ignored completley wont ever be coming to this place nor will I send anyone. A very unwelcoming/inviting atomosphere this place has. Yikes.

It looked good but my hair was completely fried, told them during my consultation i had box dye in my hair and they said there would be a test strip done but there wasn't. Services: Hair coloring, Balayage

Got my hair colored by T and although she wasn't familiar with styling my hair texture.she defined my curls beautifully! My hair color was very different from what I originally wanted but it's still lovely! The ambiance was great and customer service was even better! Update! A month later and my hair is extremely brittle and broken off. My hair was definitely over processed resulting in bald spots all over my head

Had the pleasure of having two of your stylist at my sons wedding this past weekend. Tanda and Lindsay did a fantastic job. Lindsay did the hair and it all looked beautiful! Tanda out did herself with the make up and even followed the bride around for pictures making sure she looked flawless. They both went above and beyond for us! Thank you!

I love love LOVE Gaia! I cannot express this enough. Each time I have been, there is such a friendly atmosphere from each and everyone there! Danielle is AMAZING with my hair! She takes the time to walk me through what we're going to do, she's so friendly and makes sure I'm completely satisfied with my color and cut. Plus she has a fun personality that makes going to the salon enjoyable! Marianne is super sweet, funny, and does a wonderful job at making me feel comfortable!

I was so nervous about getting a Brazilian, but shaving breaks me out SO bad and I knew I needed to try something else for some time now. I finally bit the bullet and tried our sugaring with Marianne. And wow am I happy that I did! She made the experience so comfortable and easy. Not having to even worry about shaving is great, and the results of more fine and sparse hair in between appointments is mind blowing! I am recommending this to ALL ladies, you won't regret it! Go to Gaia and fall in love with the salon for self care.

A hair cut from Gaia. Not very pleased. Very nice staff and great salon but money was wasted on this haircut! Daughter has curly hair but when it was straightened this was the results. Choppy and uneven is an understatement!

Purchased some product here a while ago. Overall a very welcoming salon! The front desk was welcoming and knowledgeable. They helped me find the right shampoo and conditioner for me, and it's been amazing! Thank you

SUPER EXPENSIVE! I paid around $200 for a retouch on my highlights and a trim. I am all for paying for quality but I wasn't thrilled with the color the stylist put on my hair. I am new to town and have worked very hard with my stylist where I previously lived to get an ashy blonde color. I'm not sure if the stylist didn't get it or if she doesn't work with blondes a lot.

But in my past experience those who have very little experience with blonde hair have a tendency to turn it yellow. So I left with $200 less in my account and yellow hair. That being said the neck massage was nice and my stylist made good conversation. I like the overall vibe of the salon. But if you're looking for a very specific type of color for a decent price find somewhere else. If you're not picky about your hair color and have money to spend this is for you!

Went for my first cut in over a year. Very welcoming. Fantastic shampoo reasonably priced and fantastic welcome gift.

I can't say enough good things about Gaia and Mindy. Let me start out by saying I have combination hair, I'm Irish and American Indian so my hair is curly, thick, and fine. I've always had to style my hair, or it is just a wild mess of fluff. After I started seeing Mindy, I was able to wash my hair and just let it air dry and it always looks perfect, no need for styling.

It was at that point that I realized, its not so much that my hair is a wild, crazy mess, it's the cuts I was getting. I've lived in different areas and Mindy is the only person who cut my hair and was able to tame it. I've since moved away from Manhattan but am seriously debating flying back to get Mindy to cut my hair. Sure, its inconvenient but its worth it.

Since I've moved, I've had six different stylists cut my hair and no one can duplicate Mindy's results. She is an excellent stylist and colorist. Her demeanor is always very amenable, and she listens to what her clients say. I found Mindy after a bad cut at Platinum, she was able to help me out of a bad hair situation. She's cut my hair in super short lobs and longer styles when I grew it out too. An all-around skilled stylist with all hair types.

The first pic is what it looks like when pretty much anyone else cuts it. This second pic is what my hair looks like with no styling when Mindy cuts it. Big difference, right? The first one pic makes me want to cry.

I came to get my roots dyed and I had Mindy she was so nice and social. I will definitely come back here again for my hair good service very friendly.

5 stars to entire experience! I've waited to write this review because I wanted to see and make sure that my hair cut grows out nicely where I can still style it easy after a month. Like most women, I am very couscous and nervous when it comes to finding someone new to cut my hair. Being new in Manhattan from LA for a job project, I've turned to Yelp to find a place to cut my hair. Gaia had the most reviews, therefore I've called in! I've explained to lady who answered the phone that I am nervous, have very limited time and someone who is the best in the salon has to manage to cut my hair in no longer than 30 minutes.

I didn't need a blow dry. She assured me that every stylist at Gaia went through their special training, therefore all are considered to be amazing! Danielle was available to cut my hair at my needed hour. She blew my mind away from how fast she can cut hair. and so darn well! Very sweet and calming, she turned disaster on my head into ongoing compliments I still receive after more than a month. I'm going back soon, no questions asked! Outstanding service!

They got me in on the same day I called/texted to get a hair cut and were very welcoming and warm! I really enjoyed my hairstylist and had a great time. I always go to Aveeda salons because they do such a good job with hair and services. This lived up to expectations and can't wait to be back!

Front desk staff is so kind and welcoming! They quickly booked my appointment and helped me get a gift card for a girlfriend - even applying it straight to her account! So easy! I received a facial here, and Mary Ann did a great job! Very relaxing and just what I needed! The Salon is clean and beautiful - I mean, Aveda, right?! Will definitely be my go to salon from now on!

Crystal is amazing! I had a haircut gone bad and had been battling the daily meltdowns of trying to make it look good. After weeks of nearly being in tears from frustration, found Crystal and heard such amazing reviews. They were right! She was super friendly and understanding and genuinely wanted to help when I told her what had happened. She listened to everything I said and took action and did a phenomenal job! I would recommend her to anyone with no hesitation. She will definitely be my go to from now on!

I got highlights and a haircut by Hailey (not sure about how to spell her name). I am naturally dirty blonde and wanted some all over brightening but no obvious streaks or stripes. She hit the nail on the head and also gave me a really nice neck and shoulder massage. I am really happy with the job she did and I'd say I'm hard to please. Oh also, they use only Aveda products so you don't leave smelling like someone dumped a bottle of perfume over your head-- the fragrances are wonderful.

Small space, not very inviting, expensive, but my hair was okay although I could have done the same thing somewhere else cheaper.

5+ stars for Gaia Salonspa! Recently arrived in Manhattan moving from California. Needing to find my home for a stylist and esthetician. I found Gaia and am super thrilled. Hannah is a wonderful esthetician, makes me feel super comfortable and amazing woman. I am so very satisfied. I have found my stylist in Lance! What an amazing, gifted talent in hair color and styling.

I love him! One of the very many difficult tasks in moving to a new state/city is finding the "perfect salon" to take care of all your needs. I have found that with Gaia Salonspa! Please visit Mary and her incredible staff at Gaia Salonspa, you will be super satisfied.

For my 700th review I will bestow this excitement on Gaia. I had the random good fortune of sitting next to owner Mary on a tiny plane between MHK and Dallas and explained to her my woes of flying from MHK to Vegas to see my aesthetician. She suggested I give her aesthetician a try when I was ready. After a year of going to Vegas back and forth (to see my husband, not my aesthetician haha), he finally moved here and I knew my trips to Vegas could not be only for beauty purposes.

I called the salon to learn about what types of wax were utilized and got a lot of information (there is a sensitive skin wax and a soy-based non-wax product). I took the chance and made an appointment with Hannah. She is truly excellent and makes me feel very comfortable. I am now a regular client and thankfully got the blessing from my Vegas aesthetician so I do not feel like I am cheating on her. I recommend Gaia for waxing though don't take all of Hannah's appointments or I won't get in!

Scheduled a consultation appointment two weeks ago and about 10 minutes before my appointment was called to be told my stylist was running late. Got to the salon and the stylist still wasn't there and was put with a different stylist. She talked with me for maybe 5 minutes and I still had to pay $25 for that "consultation". (I'd been told when I made the appointment two weeks ago that it'd be around 20-30 minutes). Super disappointing.

I work at a well-known salon in San Marino, California so I have high expectations when I go into salons for a visit. So, let me start by saying that I had an AWESOME visit. Not only that but I had just flown in from Los Angeles an hour before and these girls were the first few people I interacted with. The front desk coordinators were a pleasure and Erin my stylist was super knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet.

I was in town for a ball and Erin helped me figure out what I wanted in an updo. She took her time before we started. During my service she told me about cool places to go after the ball which I found extremely helpful because I was outside of my normal sunny California enviroment. I grew to love the midwest and all the cool things to do out here.

Being that it was my first visit they game me $15 off because I was new. The customer services here was really great and if I ever get a chance to visit again I will definately come back. THANK YOU GIRLS!
