Stephanie was lovely. I have been looking for a relaxing salon that doesn't feel stuffy but will actually listen and give a good cut. I have never had such a good experience and I will be going back!

I made an appointment online, drove 30 minutes to the salon, met Bridgette who looked at me and immediately informed me that she didn't cut short hair. What? She only cuts long hair. I have short, layered hair just above my shoulders. I do appreciate her honesty verses giving me a bad haircut -- but, if a stylist can only cut long hair, please state that information on the website so new customers with short hair know not to make an appointment. Definitely do not recommend this salon.

I just received one of the best haircuts of my life from Gregory. I recently moved back to the area and found him via a NextDoor.com recommendation. I have thick shoulder length hair and was truly impressed with how he communicated and knew exactly how to tame my hair that often has a mind of its own. I am so grateful for his expertise and willingness to listen.

Really nice place with friendly staff, my barber was professional and very nice. He knew what he was doing and did a great job. Also, the couches are super comfy.

Traveling through town spotted Hotheads Salon, and needing a haircut and reading the great reviews, I called and they got me in quickly. Gregory cut my hair and did s splendid job, my hair turned out better than the photo I showed him; plus he's a nice guy, easy to talk to. I wish I could go back but I live in San Diego.

I absolutely LOVE this salon! I first went there after growing out an asymmetrical cut, and Andrew was great at coming up with a plan for making it look good even in the in-between stages of growth. Every haircut since has been fantastic. Today I saw Shelby for a fantasy color (I went purple!) and I can't stop staring at my hair. It looks beautiful!

The shop itself is clean and organized without feeling clinical, and the various music playlists on the speakers made it feel fun and funky all at once. All the staff is friendly and helpful, and they have no trouble recommending you to someone else in the shop for complex services if they have even the smallest doubt. I've never been in a salon that feels so much like a community before. I always look forward to my haircuts (and now my color!), and it is definitely worth scheduling an appointment with them if you want great hair.

It took me a few years to find a new salon/hair stylist I was happy with and trusted with my hair. Bridgette at Hot Heads is the first hairstylist in Richmond I have actually trusted with my hair and I haven't gone to anyone else since. She earns mega brownie points for giving the best head massages during the hair wash! The salon is extremely clean & sanitary, taking extra precautions for COVID, including disinfecting everything as they work, after every customer.

I always come here to get my hair done by Shelby! She is an amazing colorist and always takes the time to make sure it comes out the way I want. I used to hate sitting and having my hair done for hours but Shelby always puts me at ease and we have great conversations. She's been doing my hair for years now and I've never thought of going to anyone else. Highly recommend!

I have been coming to see Stephanie for 13 years and have never been less than thrilled with the results! I get so many compliments on my hair color and how natural it looks. Honestly, I would pay twice as much for her services. I never leave without feeling good about my hair. Stephanie is highly professional, never keeps me waiting, knowledgeable, and warm and friendly. The head massage and massage chair you sit in while your hair is washed, is a real treat too. Highly recommend Hot Heads and Stephanie in particular!

First time I visited Hot Heads for a cut, it was because I scheduled a haircut with another place and they didn't care to update their new location on Apple Maps haha. But thank god they didn't because in over a year, I've yet to go to any other place. I go to University of Richmond, and I don't even get a haircut over the summer when I'm back home because I like this place too much. I've received my haircuts from Andrew every time but every employee including Andrew, are incredibly nice and very skilled. Highly recommend this establishment

Stephanie was great! She was able to squeeze me in on a Saturday afternoon and gave me a beautiful updo for a wedding I was in town for. Would definitely recommend her!

Rachel was outstanding. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and she listened, asked questions, and perfected the look that I was going for. She even took extra time to go back and put more color in after blow drying. An amazingly talented artist who truest cares that you walk out of the shop with a smile, loving your new hair!

I have been coming here to get my hair styled an colored for years. I won't tell you how long because that will make me feel old. Greg, now one of the owners, always does a great job. He even humors me with my purple that I added recently. Ok your only young once, but you can be immature forever! I wanted purple and I got it. It rocks! He makes a special trip to get the joico just for me.

He also does a very nice job with children. He does my daughter's hair too. She's 8 and loves the blue dye he put in her hair. What can I say? We're a colorful family! I had a great experience at Salon Ibis today! Make sure to ask for Rachel, she does color, cuts, basically everything. She is awesome! And, my second favorite part of my trip was the comfy, MASSAGING shampoo chair! Seriously, my hair looks amazing, thanks to Rachel, and I feel refreshed!

I moved to Richmond not knowing where to get a good haircut- as I am a stickler about how much is cut, the style, etc. However, I took a leap of faith and went with a place that was nearby and had decent reviews and a nice website. I called the salon and they were welcoming right off the bat! I made an appointment for the day of and am so happy I did! Stephanie, a master stylist, makes you feel welcome and comforting as she asks all the right questions to ensure that you get the cut you want! They have a process that I have never encountered before where they create a client profile- truly a different experience. They are AWESOME here- I would recommend to all!

Everything is fantastic about this place. Most importantly I got one of the best color and cut. Gregory listened and asked questions. Having just moved here from the NYC area, I was anxious about finding somewhere that could measure up to the NYC salons. I've found it!

This is my new favorite salon, ever. It's super clean and well kept. I've been going to nice salons for haircuts for about ten years now. I changed up my hairstylist and salon almost every year, but I'm so happy because I found salonIBIS. I will most definitely be going to see Jennifer for as long as I can! From the website I couldn't figure out which stylist I'd prefer so when I called to make an appointment I asked for some help, and I'm so happy they recommended Jennifer.

She is prefect for my style, so I recommend you ask who's best for you. I got my first haircut with Jennifer today and it was above and beyond what I anticipated. It was the best haircut and style I've ever received. She did exactly what I asked for and did a great job checking in and making sure it was what I wanted. I've never been so happy walking out of a haircut.

I used to walk out of salons questioning my cut and hoping the new look would grow on me, but as far as I'm concerned those days are over! I'm also planning on getting my color done by Jennifer in the future! Go get your hair done here! You'll love it!

I really want to provide a better review, and I had been here previously with a stylist, Richard, who no longer works at Ibis and the results were decent. However, when my other stylist at Ahead of Hair was booked out and I needed a cut, I took the chance and went back to Ibis and was booked with their new senior stylist, Dana. She was very nice and they were kind enough to provide me a lower fee this time since Richard was gone.

Their service is very kind and they are friendly and seem very knowledgeable. However, when I got home and showered and got a better look at my hair without product, etc. I found she had literally cut a hole in my hair! I have long (mid back) thick hair with simple side swept bangs and very minimal layers just around my face. She just needed to dust the ends for split ends and cut the swept bangs and SIMPLE layers back up a bit. Instead, she somehow managed to cut a massive hole out of my hair on the left side of my head.in a place she should not have even been cutting.

It looks horrible and there is no way to hide it; I've had multiple people tell me it is pretty bad. The other side is fine - just simple long hair from scalp to back. I either have to live with this until is grows back down or cut off a significant portion of my length to fix it - which is something I specifically told her I did not want to do.

It took me years to get this length and I was very protective of it. If their senior level stylists cannot do a simple split end and bang cut, then I really wonder about the quality of their other capabilities. I will not return and I feel very badly that this is the resulting review, they otherwise seem very good - perhaps this was a one-off.

I look for 3 things in selecting a stylist for my family and myself; experience, talent, and trend conscious. I've found one or two of these traits in many stylists. But Mr. Roberts at IBIS possesses all 3.
