I'm not one to write reviews for services Iv had done but I must share to groups looking to have a spa day with your bachelorette group, I would not recommend. They only had 2 employees to tend to the 5 of us, so we spent most of our time waiting. We had made this reservation many weeks in advance. The ladies who tended to us were nice and did a decent job, but we spent 4 hours for our group of 5 to each get 2 express services done.

We also noticed another employee getting her hair done while we were waiting to get our services done. Mind you this is a Saturday at noon and we didn't get done until 3:45. So you wait an hour or more for your turn and then receive a short, mediocre service. I asked if I could do dip and they said no, that's not what you booked. We don't have time.

There was maybe one other person who came in but they were not busy with many people waiting. It felt more that they just didn't want to do that. And I would have gladly paid extra for what I truly wanted, although my nails do look okay. It wasn't the special experience that I was hoping for. I would recommend finding a bigger salon with more employees that can work on everyone in your group at the same time and get exactly what you want.

You can tell the people who work at Salon J are a tight knit close group and I'm sure their regulars are happy. But this is not the place for bachelorette groups. They simply cannot accommodate.

Very great experience here. I'm a guy going in for literally my first mani-pedi at the urging of my girlfriend. She said I would enjoy it, and boy did I! I felt a little like a fish out of water, not knowing what to do or how to relax. But, Sharita made me feel super comfortable. Walked out feeling like a million bucks and looking handsome as hell! Will definitely be back. Guys-listen to your ladies, they're right most of the time.

I love this place! The staff are always friendly and upbeat. I always get greeted with a smile. The building itself is beautiful. The decor is very inviting and the restrooms are always kept clean. This was my first time going to this salon. They had limited gel color options, salon was not clean-- nail clippings on nail station, nail dust, clutter, etc was all over. Tools that were used to push my cuticles back were not submerged in cleaning fluid which added to the poor sanitation of the salon. Nail tech who was doing my nails started to clip and peel off her own acrylics at the station while mine soaked.

At one point her own acrylic fell off and hit my foot. This seemed really inappropriate and unsanitary. Nail filing was not consistent and gel painting was on cuticle in several places causing the gel to lift within sever days of going. Not a relaxing experience at all.

Needed a quick manicure and Salon J took me straight away. The manicurist was friendly and the manicure was perfect. This is one of the few times in my life I didn't need to tell the manicurist to watch the corners of my nails (they tend to hide). She was all over it with sure, confident efficient strokes of the brush. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star review is (a) the room is dark making it hard to see the colors well and (b) the range of colors was more limited than I'm used to.

Lucky for me what they do have is red heavy rather than pink leaning that many salons favor. Would have give 4.5 if Yelp allowed it. Put the colors somewhere with more light and this would be a 5 with no hesitation.

I scheduled two weeks prior and requested a certain employee and was told that she could do cut and color at that appointment. I was contacted twice the day prior to the appointment to confirm I was still coming. I arrived on time for my appointment only to be told that certain employee does not work on Fridays and that I could not receive color services at all that day due to their schedule. after I spent $40 on parking mind you.

This place has no regard for clients and their time & money. In response to the owner: I told the receptionist while making the appointment that I only wanted the certain stylist as that's who friends of mine that went here suggested. The receptionist even put me on hold to make sure that stylist could do it that day. so I have to disagree with you saying you were scheduling with who was available. In that same conversation we discussed that I wanted partial foils and a cut. As stated above, the day of the appointment you all obviously hadn't even planned to do color.

We booked their bachelorette retreat, detailed on the website; which includes " We have a spa lounge if there are in-between times where you can enjoy time with your friends or share pics of your day with our free Wi-fi." 8 of us were on the reservation that was confirmed the week before arrival - all for manis or pedis. The 2 gals who did our nails were very nice; but we were left to wait on a couch in a hallway, while 2 nail techs worked their way through all of us 2 at a time.which is not what we expected based on booking months in advance so that they could staff accordingly. TWICE during our visit, we were told we needed to be quiet because another client was getting a massage down the hall.

We were not a wild bachelorette party and were just chatting and laughing. In fact we even all went into the nail room so we were more separated and even that was not good enough. Why offer this group service if you expect people to be silent while they wait? When 7 of ours girls were done, we were told that was it, even though one girl never got her mani.

At that point we were so irritated and ready to leave so we just dealt with it. We way overpaid for polish and rudeness. I assume maybe the massage clients are regulars and we're not so they'd rather treat us as an inconvenience.but I highly recommend NOT booking this salon for your group.

Went there on 4/2 with a bridal party and immediately was judged and felt uncomfortable. We had someone in our party who ended up being very sick and we're unfortunately 7 minutes late. We take full responsibility for that, but the receptionist specifically was extremely unkind. The technicians didn't appear friendly at first, but warmed up once the services began.

We were told to be quiet two times, and a different review response stated it was kind, but it wasn't. We were talking and laughing, trying to enjoy our time, but the shop is very small and kind of hard to avoid noise to travel, especially when the massage room is right by the "lounge" area. The front seemed cleaner, but the back area was not very kept up with.

Not sure who the owner was, but overall, the experience wasn't enjoyable and everyone seemed to not want us there. I wouldn't recommend this salon specifically for parties or larger groups.

We went to Salon J while visiting Nashville to celebrate a birthday. Here is my honest review- everything was just okay. As far as the services, the massage was just okay nothing special (but my friend got a different masseuse and said it was awesome so just luck of the draw), facial was AMAZING and pedicure was good. If you're expecting a luxurious relaxing day, I would recommend going elsewhere.

I was disappointed to have multiple services and not given a robe so you didn't have to undress each time. First I had a massage got undressed and dressed, then went in for a facial and had to do it again. My biggest complaint was the facility. Walls were paper thin so not very relaxing environment when you can hear everything from the other rooms.

Another complaint was the music. During my massage she couldn't get Alexa to work properly and the walls were so thin that the lady in the next room would try to get her alexa on and it would trigger ours. She was fighting with it so much that it was hard to relax. Same thing happened during my facial, she couldn't get it to work. The only reason I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 stars was because the staff was super friendly and professional given the circumstances beyond their control.

New to the downtown Nashville area went in for a haircut and partial highlight. Pricing was marked $60 for a dry cut which is what I got did not get my hair wet until they did my partial highlight which was a joke maybe 12 pieces of foil did solid not weaving so I have stripes all over the top of my head and was charged 70 for a wet cut which I did not get which would have been better it might have been even

I never write reviews but I felt the need to share-this was hands down the worst manicure of my life. The nail technician was rude, rushed the entire process and cut corners (I was in and out in 12 mins) and this is what my gel manicure looks like after after three days. Please go somewhere else if possible.

Hmm. Well let's start. I went today and just wanted an acrylic removal, I got in and they started. It was ok til the woman started removal. It was all ok until one of my nails wouldn't come off. Instead of just giving it a few more min she just filed it down but there was still acrylic on so it wasn't really removed. Afterwards they charged double the price that was listed on the website.

It would have been fine except the price on the site had no tells that said prices vary it was very set on $10. When I asked why I was charged they said it depends on the time the service takes. I didn't think my service took much longer than it should have and the service wasn't 100% completed.

With no appointment, I walked into Salon J and was greeted right away. The owner, Joanne, accommodated me and gave me an awesome cut! She was very professional and left me beyond satisfied! Highly recommended!

The entire salon staff was caring and thoughtful when I arrived at the salon after an incident I encountered on the way to my appointment. I was shaken up and they made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Sharita did my pedicure and dip nails and was absolutely wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was very happy with my services. A highlight was also not being at there for a few hours.

Most of the time when I get both a pedi and nails done, I'm at the salon for 2+ hours, I really appreciated this, especially being on vacation. I travel to Nashville often and I will be visiting Salon J again!

Sharita is a fantastic nail tech and I enjoyed her pleasant conversation. Her attention to details and professionalism made my day. I was in and out without feeling rushed. I am looking forward to my next appointment with her! #teamSharita!

I came in for a simple hair style for an event and instead of getting simple wavy curls that are in style now, I got a tangled semi curly hair style that made me look old and nobody at the event liked my hair. The comments were that I could have done it myself. The lady that curled my hair put no effort in it. She talked the talk but didn't live up to it.

At first I though it was just ok but my hair looked horrible shortly after. I gave her a nice tip because I am a generous person but after being so disappointed I I wish I can take it back. This was a really bad experience for me. Never again. :

I really liked that the nail salon was quiet and in its own area. Felt relaxing. However after I left the nail polish wouldn't dry. I waited close to 3 hours and the polish still smudged. I'm assuming it was the brand they used because I've never used Morgan Taylor nail polish before. Had to go to a different salon the next day to get new polish and they used OPI, their polish dried in about 10 min. meaning I was able to touch the nail with no smudges. Would not come here again.

I am so thrilled by Sharita's work. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to say that this is a location that is friendly, efficient, and talented at what they do. If you have the opportunity to stop by you won't be disappointed. It's everything I look for when I get my nails done and as mentioned previously Sharita is the type of technician that i would return to time and time again. Thank you!

Very disappointed in my experience. The nail tech was new and based on my experience and nail results, it shows. When paying, I'd mentioned that I wasn't satisfied with my gel manicure, and they'd offered to touch them up in the back, but they would have had to soak them off and redo them completely, and I didn't have another hour fifteen to give.

When I tried rescheduling the appointment by calling, we played phone tag for a week so I just gave up in rescheduling the comp manicure. First few pictures are day of manicure, the second two are from five days after.

Great, relaxing pedicures with my husband. Staff was excellent and Covid measures enforced. Would definitely be a regular if we lived here!

This place is exceptional. Sharita did my nails, made sure they were perfect and was so pleasant to talk to. My nails look fabulous. Harumi did my hair, and she had her work cut out for her. But she was phenomenal. My hair has never looked this good. Color is fabulous and cut it perfect. Top of the line all the way around. I'll be flying back just to visit this Salon again.

It's all about the beautician If you go to Salon J and you get Sharita you will have a five star mani-pedi and I'm sure whatever else she does will be top shelf. Salon reviews are not helpful because it's all about the technician. This salon is cozy and on the dimly lit side, clean and organized, no TVs and no music I can recall. Quiet and low key- I would say no frills even.

If you want a Vegas style place with fancy massage chairs, giant chandeliers, spa music and Pelligrino this is probably not your place. If you want a great mani- pedi book Sharita and enjoy!

Don't go here. You'll get expensive nails that look cheap. I can see grooves and ridges in the dip, she literally hurt my hands scraping and filing and made my hands bleed and my nails are different shapes. My nails look super cheap. Very unhappy. Do not go here.

Wonderfully intimate little salon conveniently located off of Printer's Alley / close to hotels and broadway. That noted, we walked or took Uber. Not having been here I booked mini treatments for six ladies to celebrate a birthday about a month out. Carly was great to work with. She managed all of our appointments and everything went according to plan. There's a cute little space with couches between the hair salon and the mani/pedi and treatment rooms where they set up a fruit & cheese platter and a beverage dispenser full of mimosas.

Between treatments the ladies could relax here and chat. The scheduling was perfect - I didn't feel like anyone had to wait very long between appointments even though we were in schedule blocks. All of the staff here seems to wear several hats. Carly is the manager and an aesthetician, Tiffany cut and styled my hair AND did a friend's nails.

It was really neat to see everyone just pitch in where needed and customer service is definitely their priority. And the icing on the cake is that the prices are really reasonable! If you're looking for something with a tucked away feel where you'll be kindly greeted and taken care of - choose Salon J.

Walk-ins are truly welcomed here! On a whim, I popped into Salon J for a color change on my fingernails. Almost immediately I was introduced to a nail technician named Nhi (pronounced nee). She was delightful - both friendly and super neat. I'm thrilled with her work! They offer an ample options of both OPI and Morgan Taylor polishes. Today I chose a base coat of Pretty Wild by MT with a top coat of Next Stop.the Bikini Zone by OPI.

I think the combo looks perfect for fall. I also picked up a can of dry shampoo, which came highly recommended by one of the stylists. I walked into this salon hopeful and walked out totally happy with both their customer service and my fresh nails. I enthusiastically recommend if you're in downtown Nashville - this salon is very convenient to a number of hotels!

Terrible experience. The salon messed up my friends appointments so one was not even able to get her manicure at all and they called me repeatedly prior to my appointment but did not answer when I called back. My manicure itself was HORRIBLE. My appointment was yesterday and one is already completely broken. My nails are all different lengths and the texture of the polish is uneven and bumpy. Worst $60 I have ever spent. Edit to respond: yes they offered to give my friend her manicure over an hour after her original appointment time, she chose not to do it because we had plans. Terribly organized, rude owner and staff, and a bad manicure.

AMAZING! Was in town for a conference and m leaving for vacation the day I get back so - needed a quick bikini and brow wax. Morgan was amazing and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and did a great job waxing! And then when I was done she asked if they could do anything else for me and my legs were killing me so I asked about a leg massage - she got me in with Larry right away. SO amazing!

Some good pain and some good relaxing and my legs felt worlds better after I left! Even better I was running out to a dinner after and Morgan sat me down and did a hot iron on my hair and powdered up my face. That meant so much to me and make me feel so much better heading out to dinner! For the customer service alone I'd go - but the Waxing and massage are tops! Ask for Morgan and Larry! So worth it!
