Opened Sister-Sister African Hair Braiding and Weaving Salon in Houston Texas in December of 1997. Their dreams was to start a revolution in the hair braiding industry by building a company that provides high quality service from well trained hair braiders, allowing all braiders to become successful. They started back in New York City with their sisters from Heidi & JoJo's Salon in Jamaica, Queens, in 1989. Later, they moved to Houston with Heidi & JoJo's, which became the first African Hair Braiding Salon in Texas.
Services
Keeping Black Hair Beautiful Use a wide-toothed Afro-comb for curly hair and a natural bristle brush for relaxed hair. Combing will help spread the natural oils through the hair, making it look shinier and healthier. Use intensive pre-shampoo treatments. Massage the scalp regularly to encourage oil production.

I like the place for hair braiding (for cornrows, crochet, locs and twists, I've never tried their weave). I like only one person there, her prices are reasonable, her work is neat and organized, my hair never breaks with her. I will not give her name because too many people will rush for her and she will jack up my price. I have had my hair done by three ladies there: Lydia, Miriam and a lady on the right first person as you enter with gold brown hair (not the one at the Cashier, she is the $money lady, stay away from negotiating with her.

Deal with your hair braider first). They are all great, but one is my favorite! The place is located off Highway 6 South/. Beechnut, very convenient. The only thing I don't like is if they notice you like the hair style after they finish they love to tell you it should cost more than what they originally charged you!(I don't like that especially if you are paying $180. for less than 3 hours of work). Remember to tip them if the work is fab!

I was dreading spending 7+ hours at the salon but they were staffed up so was able to get in and out in 3 hours. I got medium French braids completed by 3 women, I went on a Friday morning for reference. Braids look great and will definitely be returning in a few weeks for my touch up

Bad attitude. I walked in, barely opened they mouth and greeted me. Place was hot, understaffed, and bad vibes. They don't have a set price on braiding. It's basically whom ever get in your head and feel they can get away with charging you, that's the price they will charge. I will never spend my hard earned money at a place who wants your money but yet can't treat you with common courtesy and respect. There's thousands of braiding salons in Houston that will welcome one with open arms and do a way better job.

Cynthia did an amazing job, very attentive and professional, plus she finished in record time. I absolutely love my braids

I always come here, Lucy did my interlocks and twisted my hair today for the first time. From now on she will be the only one in my head. She understood the assignment. Thank Allah for my beautiful black sisters

Got knotless braids & paid 220. specifically asked the lady if she could tuck she said yea. but didn't tuck my hair my real hair color was still showing an my braids where RED. braids started falling out after a week an i made sure to keep em wrapped. also the braids they gave me where so uneven an not neat. as a braider myself i was disappointed. check out my hair page @shaydabraiderr if you want good quality NEAT braids.

Braiders do not care for. Lady tried to comb through my hair with a small tooth comb from root to tip. Any natural knows that's a big no no. Lady for very combative when I asked her not to do that and told me "that's how you comb for braids" I don't think ripping someone hair out is protocol for any style. There was a man across the way from me who had very thick hair.

The lady was also combining his hair from root to tip RIPPING his hair out. You can tell he was an old soulful dusty man that didn't know better. Balls and balls of hair was on the ground from her ripping through this hair. My anxiety was on 1000

Got my braids done last weekend.the whole last row is almost out & they're wrapped every night yet look a month old instead of a week! I feel robbed $180 for braids & they have to be redone

I got my hair braided in cornrows with extensions. It took about 1 hr. 15 min for my whole head (7 braids). The result was beautiful! You can use their hair, or bring your own to save money. Also, it's cash only, so stop by the ATM before you get there. Toyin did my hair and it was great! :) Services: Hairstyling, Hair extensions
