Volume Salon

I've been to volume salon many times in the past two years and although Dena is my absolute favorite, Lindsey comes in at a very very close second (maybe even tied for my most favorite ) Lindsey did a fantastic job with my hair and talked me through everything she was doing. I have never walked out of a hair appointment so happy. My hair is shiny, soft and blown out beautifully. She's amazing, I'm telling you. You can't go wrong with ANY of the stylists at Volume Salon 10/10.

I go to Lindsey and I love her she knows what she's doing. She very friendly too. Can be expensive for what you want but if you find a girl that knows what she's doing it's worth it

First off my stylist was sweet and kind, however the rating is only because I couldn't bring myself to express how bad I wanted to cry. (I did after I got outside) I wanted red or blonde, she said the blonde wouldn't be brassy or orange. It's is, and I was there for 5 hours only to get brassy hair and my cut I asked for was for a 35 year old instead my hair is cut exactly like my 12 year old niece. I paid the 180$ and even tipped because I'm not a hateful person. I have horrible anxiety with hair salons and I am never going to another one after this.

I needed a new salon and Volume did not disappoint! I called and was lucky to be seen the same day and have been coming back since. Abigale is fantastic to work with and I've also worked with Lexi for a cut. I recommend if you're in the area. The salon is clean and beautiful inside and the music is on point! I had the pleasure of having my hair fully highlighted and toned a few months ago by the very talented and sweet Lindsey. I had explained to her that I was nervous because I have had bad experiences previously in salons with my hair, and until her I had only trusted two people in this world to work on my hair. Being hundreds of miles away from those individuals, I did some research and landed on Volume Salon here in Charlotte. Lindsey was very accommodating, sweet, and empathetic when I expressed my apprehension.

She listened to exactly what I wanted done and she executed it even better than I imagined. Her attention to detail and positive attitude made it a wonderfully positive experience. Needless to say, Lindsey is someone that I fully trust with my hair care. I will be going back to her regularly. My only regret is that it took me so long to write this review

I want to begin with saying that I slept on if I should write this review or not. I had the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a salon at Volume Salon. My appt was set for noon yesterday and I went in with high hopes. I arrive about 10 mins early and I sat with designated stylist. We discussed what I wanted (see added photos) and then began.

During our session, she would also be assisting another client, which I said was fine. 4 hours later, my hair is orange. She doesn't think it looks bad and was going to send me on my way. I told her I needed it lighter (I used the word "rusty" at first instead of "orange" to be polite). She had to finish her other client, which was fine, and then try to fix my hair.

Neither of us were happy and I was very uncomfortable. When we "finished" the "fix", she said she had another client so she wouldn't be able to blow dry alone and had someone assist her. I had two people pulling on each side of my head with a blow dryer. It was pretty horrible. I had had enough and eventually said "I just want to go home" as I had been there for 6 hours total already and I still did not have the hair I had asked for.

The part that bothered me the most is that the man (which I assume was the owner) that was clearly in charge could see that I was visibly upset. He did not try to help. And he charged me full price. I don't mind paying any amount for something that I WANT. But to leave and cry in my car, to have spent 6 full hours out of my day and then to not feel like they were concerned that I did not like my hair.that was really what got me.

I will attach the photo of what I asked for, the orange color that they were going to let me leave with, the final product and the receipt (I did tip her $120 because I felt bad that she had to work.that was not a reflection of the "well done" job she had done.it was just the right thing to do).

I had Lexi and my experience here was wonderful! Came in with box dyed and a home haircut, left feeling brand new! Lexi's gentle yet confident manner was refreshing, especially since this is the first shop I've been in since I moved. Going back for sure

Having recently moved to Charlotte without anyone to offer recommendations for a quality salon, I relied on online reviews. Volume Salon did not disappoint! I soon saw why they were rated so highly. The atmosphere is so positive, the stylists are friendly and personable, and Laura is the best! My cut, coloring and highlights could not have been better. and my hair is impossible to style. fine, thin, and just plain boring. So, you don't even have to think about going anywhere else. Just get out your calendar.

Volume Salon is directly next to my apartment complex and I became a new customer of theirs last summer (after moving to Charlotte). Dina has always been absolutely great and they are always willing to make time for a quick work-in haircut as needed, especially when I go on short notice business trips. She always does a great job and I highly recommend her. Dina and her team are very welcoming and always willing to help, even offering drinks when you walk in such as water or coffee.

Lexi hands down did the most awesome job. I have never left a salon I am not familiar with so happy. I live in Pinehurst, but If I can't get in with my regular stylist I have no problem driving back to Charlotte to book an appointment with Lexi!

Lindsey worked MAGIC on my hair! I went in to do an all over color as my hair has grown out a lot and wasn't matching my roots. She understood exactly what I wanted and did the most beautiful chocolate brown color. I am absolutely obsessed. Can't wait to come back!

I seriously messed up my colored hair in an attempt to touch up at home. Lexi was able to take me within an hour and I thought my fashion color was gone for good but she saved my day. Not only did she get rid of the gross green but made my purple come alive again! She was so friendly and confident - she deserves an award for absolutely reviving my hair from the brink.

I get a hair mask and blowout with Abigale once in two weeks. She is the best! She makes my coarse, frizzy hair so soft and shiny. She is very professional and this place is so clean and well maintained. Service: Hairstyling

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Value I surprised my girlfriend with a trip to Volume Salon to have her hair colored and cut before Christmas and she absolutely loved it! Her hair looks so healthy, the cut is spot on and the color was what she said she'd been hoping for in trips to other salons, and finally found it at Volume. I know she'll definitely be back! Thanks! Taylor is amazing! My stylist in California has scheduling issues and I could not wait anymore. I booked here while on a business trip - and now I want to take Taylor back to San Diego with me! For YEARS I've been trying to convey how I want my hair to get back to its original base and blonde highlights rather than the overprocessed blonde "highlights" have become. Go see Taylor. Highly recommend!

Very satisfied with my experience at Volume Salon. Dena is an all around amazing person and hair stylist. Not only was she so friendly and personable, she also went out of her way to show me exactly how to curl and style my hair at home. I am not an avid reschedule kind of person, but I was quick to book another appointment at volume salon.

I go to Mackenzie and she is hands down the best hair stylist I have ever had in my life. My hair has never been healthier! The salon is super clean, the offer my favorite products as well as products that are inexpensive and they don't push you to buy them. I absolutely love this salon!

I've been to volume twice now to see Devan, and I'm so obsessed. I've been in Charlotte for 7 years and haven't been able to find someone I like. My friend recommended volume and I will never go anywhere else. The previous person I used did these chunky highlights and i asked her to make them smaller so it would look more natural and grow out better- she said the only way to make it look more natural was to do more foils and pack them in. well that's not true because Devan does baby lights and she's so good.

I honestly feel a little guilty because she's so good at baby lights that I will only need to get my hair foiled every 3-6 months because it grows out so beautifully. Also the prices here are super reasonable. for the work that you get it's a steal.

I've seen both Sarah and Laura here and they are both amazing! I've done color with them both and are really good at helping me figure out what I want without me fully knowing. In addition, they've talked me out of a couple potential poor choices, which is appreciated because some stylists will just let you jump off the deep end with no water. In addition, they've helped me out when I was in a crunch before and that is definitely really appreciated!

I've been going to Emily at Volume for years, and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. She is the Hotheads extension queen and an amazing colorist. Everyone at Volume is professional and personable. Seriously the best salon in Charlotte!

I came in for a cut and style as I was planning on attending a wedding that evening. My stylist was friendly and chatty, and trimmed my hair quite nicely. Got the style that I wanted from the cut. However, I paid $15 extra to get my hair curled for the wedding. the stylist didn't show me the back of my hair before I left, and if she had I would have asked her to re-do it.

Despite using massive quantities of hair spray, I got limp thin "curls" that are less curly than my hair is naturally. I felt like I had a crunchy helmet on, and any curl I had was gone within the hour. I didn't have time to wash and style it again, so I had to just deal with it. The pictures of gorgeous curls on this yelp page are NOT what you will get. Don't expect anything that nice. My friends who curled their own hair at home turned out 100% better. I was very disappointed.

This salon is *the* place to go in Charlotte for expert hairpainting, balayage, and frankly all color /styling services. The owner hosts advanced hairpainting classes which attract students from high end salons in all corners of the USA and even international. Although this is a super high-end salon, the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and the staff are incredibly accommodating, down-to-earth and friendly- you won't find elitism here, but you will find honest artists who will make your hair the best it can be, in a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere.

I chose layers style but i did not want to reduce d length as well. So she made sure she understands d details on what i wanted and she gave her best.i simply love d way my layers bounce now! I will definitely be returning.

This place is amazing! I found it because of a referral of a friend. I go to Emily and she is absolutely the BEST! I have been going to her for about a year and a half now. I went from VERY long hair (lower back) to about a pixie cut, and I'm slowly growing it out, and I have YET to have an awkward "growing it out" phase! Everyone there seems to be very friendly as well. It is definitely the best spot to go!

Received a cut and hair painting from Sarah and I love it. She even came in on her day off to accommodate my schedule! The salon has a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Just recently moved here and found Sarah at Volume Salon on yelp. Sarah was also new to Charlotte! She did such a great job bleaching. I've since gone back for 3 touch ups and every time I love my hair. I've been bleaching my hair for a couple of years and never had someone do as good of a job as Sarah! She is awesome and efficient!
